Phlebotomy

The phlebotomist is in the practice on a Thursday between 08.30 and 11.30. The Phlebotomist is provided by the local health board to save patients a trip to the hospital just for a blood test. Your blood form should be collected from reception when you arrive.

When you book your appointment for your blood test with reception, please let them know whether it is fasting so that the earliest appointment can be made for you.

You need to telephone us for your test results after 2 pm. We will not routinely contact you with your results. The receptionists will have notes regarding the test from the doctor – they can only read out what the doctor has written and cannot interpret the results. If you are unclear what the doctor is asking for, please ask for a telephone consultation or come in and see us.
