Butetown Medical Practice offers a walk-in GP led surgery every morning between 8.30am and 11am. As the demand is very variable, the waiting times each morning will also vary. If there is a very high demand, patients arriving later may be asked if they wish to be seen for an urgent matter, and offered a booked appointment at a different time if not.
Of course, we also offer booked appointments morning and afternoon that enable you to plan a little better and, unlike most surgeries, you can book up to 2 months ahead. Bookings can be made by telephone or in person.
If you cannot keep an appointment please inform us as soon as possible on 02920 483 126 so that the appointment may be offered to another patient and hence make it easier to get appointments when you ring in.
Reception is open between 8.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday apart from one Wednesday afternoon a month, when all practices in Cardiff are closed for staff training. When reception is closed, the telephone is diverted to the out of hours service.
Please request any housecalls before 11am, you will receive a call from a doctor to assess your requirements. Housecalls are reserved for patients who are genuinely housebound.
